Aside from the rubber seal that helps keep water from leaking in through the sunroof, you’ve also got drainage lines and trays in place to help steer and keep liquid in control. When too much dust and other contaminants get inside, they can build up to the point that you’ll end up with a clog that needs to be dealt with.
- Design issues – Not all sunroofs are the same, and some are going to have less optimal drainage design. While this might not be a problem in dry environments, in places where your drain lines and trays are going to get a workout, then this is a definitely problem that is going to make itself known fairly quickly.
How Are Land Rover Sunroof Leaks Repaired?
The good news about a leaky sunroof is that often the repairs needed are going to be fairly quick and minimal. A soft-bristle brush applied with a little expertise, for instance, can help with unclogging drain trays, while some controlled air bursts through drainage lines can get the detritus out with a quickness.
In matters of misalignment, it might be a quick reinstall, although it will really depend on what kind of damage may have occurred during a faulty installation. With seal issues, often the application of a little specialized gel sealant can restore the integrity of the seal and fix those leaks effectively in very little time.
