Tires age out. Heat and UV break the rubber down from the inside while the tread still looks showroom-fresh, and a garage in Avondale does nothing to stop that clock. The stakes are not theoretical — NHTSA reports that 511 people died in tire-related crashes on U.S. roads in 2024. Read the four-digit date code on your sidewall. If the year starts with a 1, those tires are finished no matter how good the tread looks.

Coolant pipes on the 996, 997, and early Cayenne were bonded at the factory, and those joints let go with age and heat.

On a Cayenne, it usually shows as slow coolant loss with no visible puddle — easy to ignore until it isn’t. Fixed properly, the pipes get pinned so they can’t separate again. PDK is the other one: fluid and filter on the factory interval, because a PDK rebuild is a five-figure conversation and the service is not. Tiptronic and manual boxes get the same attention.

Under-inflated tires lower gas mileage by about 0.2% for every 1 psi drop in average pressure, per the U.S. Department of Energy — and on a Porsche they also erase the handling you paid for.

Cold February mornings pull four or five psi out of a set without anyone noticing. We set pressures to the door-jamb placard, not to whatever the last shop guessed, and we check the TPMS sensors while the car is up. Small thing. It changes how the car drives.

Cayenne and Macan air suspension, transfer case actuators and carbon buildup on the direct-injection V6S are all standard work in our bays.
